Julius Schulhoff was born in Prague (Bohemia), Austria-Hungary, August 2, 1825.
He studied pianoforte method with Kisch and counterpoint with Tomaschek.
In 1844 he appeared at a recital in Paris, where he became well known as a virtuoso and was much in demand as a teacher.
He removed to Dresden in 1870, and subsequently to Berlin.
Schulhoff is best known for his brilliant piano music.
He died in Berlin in 1898.
